The Quality Gateway Hotel was built in Devonport in June 1970. Then and now it is the largest hotel in the north-west region, boasting 89 rooms, one main restaurant, three conference rooms and a gaming lounge with full bar facilities.
Once you enter the hotel, the foyer is clean, bright and inviting, and to your right you’ll find a well-presented Cider Bar and a beautiful restaurant, La Pomme Brasserie, which boasts the biggest display of a Tasmanian Tasting Trail on the wall. Each show of artwork is displayed on the original doors of the old hotel and is a fabulous backdrop to showcase the fresh produce that is served in the restaurant. Both areas have been recently refurbished to international standards and are accompanied by quality service and the high quality produce served in the restaurant.
With the abundance of Tasmanian produce available, the state is fast becoming the nation’s capital food bowl and Devonport is right in the middle of some of the best agriculture in Australia. The choice of potatoes, fresh berries and fresh wasabi – just to name a few – is all on the doorstep and the menus are all carefully designed to complement the wonderful fare. Everyone likes to see paddock to plate menus and La Pomme is no different.
Part of a four-star hotel, La Pomme Brasserie is a four-star restaurant and won Best Restaurant in Accommodation in 2014, while the hotel won Hotel of the Year 2014.
La Pomme Brasserie is a wonderful venue for 80 to 90 people. Its functionality is very diverse – catering for any customer requests from being a four-star restaurant to hosting a private cocktail party, evening of entertainment or end of year functions for local organisations.
